"I have attended a few of Josie's retreats and I can honestly say it is a highlight to my year! The yoga sessions always have the right balance of challenge and relaxation with a little laughter thrown in. The accommodation is in a perfect setting to get outdoors during the day and enjoy the stars in the evening over a lovely fire. I particularly love the food on the retreat it's is always delicious and healthy. When I leave I feel my mind has had a little reset and by body truly nourished. Thank you."

YOGA & MINDFUL DRAWING
Creativity, Self-Expression, Wellbeing
Sunday 19th October 2025
3-6pm
24 Salisbury Avenue, St Albans, AL1 4TU
£45
Josie (yoga teacher) and Paul (artist) welcome you just as you are, guiding you through yoga movement, breathwork, mindful drawing exercises and relaxation in a safe, non judgemental space. It is not about being good at drawing or about a finished product but a mindful process, and what evolves during that process.

Practicing mindful creativity can help us become more present with our lives as we begin to cultivate a deeper inner awareness. We start to notice our blockages and our fears, dissolve them and learn to express ourselves more authentically.

This approach can help reduce anxiety, promote emotional healing and foster self discovery.

Mindful Drawing
Mindful Drawing combines the benefits of mindfulness with the practice of drawing through presence, awareness and non-judgement.

Often when we draw , we get distracted or feel anxious about how we're drawing. We can judge ourselves, get impatient and feel frustrated that we're not as good as we want to be. With Mindful Drawing we can savour the process of observing and interpreting what we see without judgement. It can be fun! Allowing imperfection and embracing mistakes is part of the process and and the final result loses its importance.

The goal is to be fully present and engaged in the process.
What to Expect from the Afternoon
Josie will guide you through gentle yoga movement to help you slow down and become more present in the here and now. Paul will offer mindful drawing exercises, working with the group and individually. We will finish with a guided relaxation and a sense of calm and satisfaction.

Herbal tea and healthy snacks will be provided throughout the afternoon to keep the creative juices flowing!

No previous yoga or drawing experience is required. Come as you are, everyone is welcome. All equipment supplied.
